Basic search allows insight into customer data. The following methods help refine a basic search to arrive at target data faster.
To perform a Basic Search using a single date, enter a date in the search field in one of the following formats: m/d/yy or m/d/yyyy. For example, 6/3/19 or 6/3/2019. You are taken to the Search page where a list of results display. The start and end date range are the same date.
On the Search page, you can search for a date range in the format transaction_date: [YYYY-MM-DD TO YYYY-MM-DD], or for example transaction_date: [2016-02-01 TO 2016-02-08].
If you want to search for a date and a string enter a combination such as 6/30/2019 AND john doe. If there is more than one transaction that meets the search criteria, they are displayed in the results. If there is only one result, you are taken to Transaction Details for that transaction.
Searching for 6/30/2019 AND john doe produces search results that include both the specified date and name. Searching for 6/30/2019 OR john doe produces search results that include the specified date without the name and the specified name without the date.
Searching for either james or "domainname.com" returns all transactions with james@domainname.com.
For all searches, the following results can occur:
-
If the number matches a specific transaction, you're taken to the Transaction Details for that order.
-
If there is more than one search result, the results display on Advanced Search.
-
If there are no matches, the message: No Results. Try broadening your search criteria display.
There might be data that you want to search for as a range, such as a Persona Score between 0 and 25 (0-25). To run a search on a range, the upper and lower bounds are included so that if you search for a score range from 0 to 25, the values 0 and 25 are included in the search.
For example, to search for a Persona Score between 0 and 25, format the query as: score:[0 TO 25].
The square brackets and the capitalized TO are required. The results for this example query would NOT include values above 25 (including fractional ones like 25.00001).
To search for a range of IP (IPv4) addresses, the search utility understands that addresses are 4 decimal values separated by periods and that the value range is 0-255, so a generic IP address search query for an IP address range is formatted: ipad:[X.X.X.0 TO X.X.X.255].
The class of IPv4 addresses is also understood. So, to search for the entire class D network the query would be formatted: ipad:[127.0.0.0 TO 127.0.0.255].
To match the class A network of 127.0.0.0 you could use: ipad:[127.0.0.0 TO 127.255.255.255].
To search for a specific order number, enter the order number in the Search Box and select Search.
When searching by order number, you might receive a larger number of results than you expected. This might be due to the number matching other data about orders in the common index. To narrow your search to results that only display in the Order Number field, format the number like the following example: order_number:MIL-12345-Q.
The process of searching by transaction ID number is the same as searching by order number. Enter the exact transaction ID in the Query Box and select Search.
To search for a specific transaction ID number and receive results that match transaction IDs, use the following example: transaction_id:1235456789.
You might want to conduct a search for transactions by payment brand name such as Visa or MasterCard. Each payment brand name has a recognized abbreviation and the search must be conducted by using that abbreviation in all caps. For example, brand:VISA.
