AVS and CVV are intended to provide a simple form of authentication regarding the credit card being used in the card-not-present environment. Having this information allows additional insight to a reviewer about whether or not the transaction appears fraudulent or legitimate.
These checks can only be provided by the payment processor, and not by Kount.
- If Kount is queried before the payment processor (pre-authorization) AVS data is not available to be passed to Kount and will not be displayed without an update call being made.
- If Kount is queried after the payment processor (post-authorization), the AVS information must be passed to Kount in order to be displayed in the Agent Web Console.
Internal IT resources may be needed to ensure the information is being passed to Kount and in the correct format.
