A passive or indirect link within a persona is when there is one piece of data connected indirectly to another piece of data. For example, let’s take a phone number that's linked from order A to order B. Order B is not my order, but rather another customer's order. Order B is linked to Order C via an email address. Order C is my order. Orders A and C are linked in a passive manner, rather than directly through one piece of data, and displays as linked within the Persona Orders link on the Transaction Details pages for these orders.
It's important to pass a full contingent of linking data (full credit card number, email address, and device data). If, for instance, Merchant A were to only pass a masked value of a credit card number, within the graphical depiction above, both direct and passive linking ends at Merchant B.
