In the Agent Web Console (AWC), you can create an if/then rule for customer creation dates by using Relative Date. You can use Relative Date to approve or decline transactions within relative time frames. Use cases for this rule include account creation dates and airline ticket transactions.
For a Relative Date rule, you must select before or after the current date and then the number of days using a negative or positive numeric value. The relative date ranges from -18,263 to 18,263.
Use these examples if you want to approve or decline transactions based on how long ago a user created their account. The longer the account has been active, the more likely it is that it can be trusted and the transaction approved.
If customer account creation was within the last three days, you can create a rule to decline the transaction:
-
For the Date Customer Unique ID was set, select after, which indicates the time after three days ago.
-
Add -3 for the date, which indicates three days ago.
If customer account creation is more than a week old, you can create a rule to approve the transaction:
-
For the Date Customer Unique ID was set, select before, which indicates the time before the last seven days.
-
Add -7 for the date, which indicates the previous seven days.
These examples are common with travel and entertainment companies who want to review transactions within a specific time frame associated with departure times or concert dates and the device location. If a device location is 3,000 miles away from the concert location, then you can set the rule to decline the transaction.
If an airplane departs within one day, you can create a rule to decline the transaction:
-
For the Date Customer Unique ID was set, select before.
-
Add 1 for the date, which indicates one day from the current date.
If a ski pass starts more than 90 days from now, then review:
-
For the Date Customer Unique ID was set, select after.
-
Add 90 for the date, which indicates 90 or more days after the current date.
