Enter the value, or part of the value for fields that match part of a value, as it is stored on the transaction.

Uppercase and lowercase letters

Yes

Matching is not case-sensitive. SMITH, smith, and Smith return the same results.

Spaces before or after the term

Yes

Global Search removes spaces before and after the search term.

Multiple words

Yes

The customer name and address fields compare each word separately. In the address fields, every word must match. Other fields compare the complete search term, including spaces, as one value.

Hyphens in identifiers

Yes

Include hyphens that are part of the value, for example in a customer order number such as 100245-7788.

Phone numbers

Yes

Enter the complete phone number with the plus sign (+) and country code, for example +12085551234.

Blank search term

No

A search term is required.

Search mode selection

No

Global Search applies the match rule for each field automatically.

Quotation marks (" ")

No

Do not use quotation marks to group words. Enter the value without quotation marks.

Wildcard characters, such as the asterisk (*)

Global Search provides partial matching for fields that support it, so wildcard characters are not required. An asterisk matches only an asterisk in the stored value.

Search operators AND, OR, and NOT

Global Search accepts one value for each search. To search for more than one value, run a separate search for each value.

BIN and last 4 digits with a hyphen

Use the format BIN-last4, for example 424242-1234. See BIN and last 4 digits search syntax.

N/A placeholder for BIN or last 4 digits

Use N/A on one side of the hyphen to match only the other side, for example N/A-1234.

Matches transactions where the billing email contains @example.com.

Matches customer names that contain the word Jane and a word that starts with Sm.

Matches cards with the BIN 424242 and the last 4 digits 1234.

Matches transactions with the billing phone or shipping phone +12085551234.

"Jane Smith"

Not supported. Enter Jane Smith without quotation marks.

Not supported as a wildcard. Enter jane.

Not supported. Run one search for jane and one search for john.
