The card Bank Identification Number (BIN) and last 4 digits share one column. Use the following formats to search the BIN, the last 4 digits, or both.
|
Format |
Example |
How Global Search matches |
|---|---|---|
|
Value without a hyphen |
424242 |
Compares the value with both the BIN and the last 4 digits. A transaction matches if either one matches. |
|
Value with a hyphen |
424242-1234 |
Compares the part before the hyphen with the BIN and the part after the hyphen with the last 4 digits. Both parts must match. |
|
N/A for the last 4 digits |
424242-N/A |
Compares only the BIN. The last 4 digits are not compared. |
|
N/A for the BIN |
N/A-1234 |
Compares only the last 4 digits. The BIN is not compared. |
|
N/A on both sides, or a hyphen only |
N/A-N/A or - |
Global Search does not search the BIN and last 4 digits field. Other fields are still searched. |
-
The BIN and last 4 digits field matches only on complete values.
-
Each side of the hyphen must be the complete BIN or the complete last 4 digits. Partial digits do not match.
Note
A 4-digit search term without a hyphen can match the last 4 digits of many different cards. To find one card, include the BIN in the format BIN-last4.
